Course Description This course is designed to train building level leaders to facilitate the implementation of a common instructional model based on the Marzano Instructional Model. This course will be offered through a blended format, with both face to face and online instruction. All materials will be available on via a Google + Community

Course Objective Participants will gain the capacity to serve as a building resource during the implementation of a common instructional model. Participants will gain expertise in the following:
Research and theory
The model of instruction: Lesson Segments
Setting growth goals
Engaging in focused practice
Receiving focused feedback
Observing and discussing teaching
Serving as a mentor teacher
Requirements The course will require participants to experience the components of implementation and develop expertise in how to serve as a building leader through the process. Online Participants will develop competency through the completion of the following activities:
Attending all face to face sessions
Participating in Google + Hangouts for video discussions
Posting reflection and products in the Google + Community
Reflection on the research
Reflection on the instructional model
Conducting a self assessment
Setting individual growth goals
Engaging in focused practice and charting progress
Video taping a lesson and reflection on the lesson
Providing feedback
Leading instructional rounds
Developing a mentor plan for new teachers
Course Topics/Assignments Timeline Course assignments and activities will focus on the processes used by buildings to implement a common instructional model. Participants will be required to complete each component and reflect through participation in regular Google + Hangouts and by posting in the Google + Community The topics and timeline are as follows:
